How it works

The Sale - We call this a swap (people swapping old for new) but this is actually a consignment sale. This means convenience for you. You don't have to hang around trying to sell your equipment. You just drop off your gear Friday afternoon or evening and then on Sunday afternoon, you pickup the unsold items and a check for the items sold. In the mean time, you can get to the ball game or whatever else is going on. You can, of course also hang out at the swap and help or look for something new (or used) to replace the items you are selling.

How we (you and us) make money - You bring your clean, in-safe-condition items, you price it, and we check it into our inventory system. We take 25% of the selling price and you take home 75%. There are no mark-downs or discounting during the sale. We sell it for the price you set.  Old, long and/or unsafe skis will not be accepted.  Old, dirty clothing items will not be accepted.

Preparation - Just bring your items to Newport High School. There will be signs directing you to the appropriate location. We will have inventory cards for you to fill out. We will help you fill them out. We will even provide some assistance with pricing. We handle the rest.

Individuals - If you have over 25 items, you can contact me to pickup inventory tags 5-10 days prior to the swap. We will check you in as early as possible (2:00-4:00) with the vendors to make it easier for you and us.

Ski/Snowboard Shops - Prior arrangements must be made before coming to the swap. If you come ill prepared the day of the swap, we reserve the right to turn you away. Click on the Shops menu for more info.

The Snowsports Shops are a critical element of the swap. They provide only 60% of the equipment but over 90% of the technical sales help to the swap customers.

Thank you for participating in our swap whether buying, selling or both. We will do our very best to make this a good experience.
